Hawzah News Agency (Najaf, Iraq) – A group of Iraqi citizens from the city of Basra met with senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi in his office in the holy city of Najaf on Thursday, February 22.

During the meeting, the Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi emphasized the importance of allegiance to Prophet Muhammad (as) through believing in the authority of his Ahlulbayt (as) saying, “Ahlulbayt (as) are considered as a gate to felicity for mankind as well as guide to genuine Islam.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the revered Shia source of emulation elaborated on the events in Lady Fatima’s (sa) life and the hardship this noble lady went through and added, “The hardship that lady Fatima (sa) went through in life happened because her excellency was trying to protect Islam and its teachings. She was trying to fight those who were out to divert Islam from its righteous path.”

In the end of the meeting, the participants expressed condolences on the death anniversary of Lady Fatima (sa) and had a Q & A session regarding their religious inquiries.
